I was sitting in the car the other day and I realized every summer for the past 4 years I’ve traveled out of the country. These traveling experiences have been such a blessing and my ability to see the world has only ignited a passion in me and as long as I can I will continue to travel.
This year my travels brought me to Aruba, also known as One Happy Island and let me say, this name truly fits up to the location. The entire island is a little bit over 19 miles and though mostly deserted, it is still a work of art.As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to appreciate vacations as vacations, meaning I can enjoy the relaxation, the not turning up, and just enjoying my existence in a new place.
Aruba was truly a relaxation vacation for me which was fitting since I had just returned for Miami the week before and it was the opposite to say the least but that’s another story for another day haha.I spent majority of my vacation enjoying the water and weather which was a perfect 91 and windy every single day.
Mornings were spent walking along the beach or eating breakfast that my dad prepared in our condo because….coins.The beach and the pool were my go to places but if you know my traveling style you know I enjoy the times where we go off the beaten path.
We spent a couple of hours driving our rental car to the end of island where the California Lighthouse sat. I cannot even describe how beautiful this area of the island was and the pictures surely don’t do it justice.
As far as food, the island is surprisingly filled with several Italian restaurants and the ones we dined at were absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for something less touristy, there are Caribbean restaurants as well…one word: SPICY…actually 3 words…SPICY AS HELL but delicious and worth a try.
If you’re adventurous, there are water sports galore! If I had the coins I would have done them all…well maybe not all because there were some activities that defied gravity and just didn’t seem like anything I needed to be doing if I love my life.
So if you’re looking for a destination for a relaxation vacation put Aruba on the top of your list. I enjoyed my trip so much and I think you’ll enjoy this happy island as well.
