What I Wore: Made in America

September 10, 2015

I went to the Made in America Music Festival for Labor Day weekend and let me start by saying my edges are still recovering from being snatched by Queen Bey’s killer performance and I’m also unable to talk because of all the screaming I did for Nick Jonas, Future, Big Sean, J Cole, Banks, and The Weeknd. With a line up like this it’s no wonder why I made Made in America a must attend event on my to do list.

Needless to say, MIA was everything I needed and then some. This was my first time in Philly and the city of brotherly love did not disappoint. From the night scene, to happy hours around the city, to the infamous Philly Cheesesteak, I loved the city of Philadelphia. Not to mention that this was the city that birthed my partners in crime for the weekend; Shema and Chandler!

I had an amazing weekend to say the least but I think my favorite part of it all was my Music Festival look for Saturday’s concerts. I found the main part of my look while in Chicago at the Taste of Chicago. The piece screamed music festival and I just knew I had to have it. I went with an all black sheer and lace dress from…guess? Forever 21, yes, Forever 21! The dress was only $32.50 and was the perfect piece to help me make a statement.

The hardest part with this look was finding something to go underneath it that:

A. Wouldn’t make me look naked and B. Didn’t take away from the beauty that the dress had on it’s own.

I brought a plain pair of black shorts to wear as my bottoms but my BFF Chandler’s ripped rockstar black shorts were a better fit for this look. Up top I went with a simple black bralette that blended with the dress but also kept the girls covered. In true best friend form, Chanbabyy helped me top off the look with a silver statement necklace from Forever 21 as well.

The finished look was in my opinion, P E R F E C T I O N and definitely one my favorite parts about my weekend at the Made in America Music Festival.
